FUNERAL HELD FOR MARY K. DAUGHERTY

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday morning at 10 a. m. at the Wickenburg chapel for Mrs Mary K. Daugherty who passed away following a lingering illness at the home of her daughter, Mrs Newt Aldous.

The Rev. Ross Cleeland officiated at the services and Mrs. Carl Shride and Mrs. Roy Richards rendered several songs. The Hassayampa Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star conducted brief services at the cemetery.

Mrs Daugherty would have been 79 years old in July. She was a pioneer resident of Arizona coming here in 1887 from her home at Edgerton, Ill. She had been a Wickenburg resident during the past 16 years. Mrs Daugherty had been a member of the Eastern Star since 1922; also was a Past Noble Grand officer of the Rebecca lodge of Flagstaff.

In addition to her daughter Mrs Aldous, and a grandson James she is survived by two sons Leith J. Wheeler of Wickenburg and Ora Wheeler of Ajo; also two sisters, Mrs Ethel O'Donnell of Los Angeles and Mrs. Minnie Tarr of Kansas.

Mrs Daugherty leaves a wide circle of friends in Wickenburg and throughout Arizona who mourn her passing. She had been in ill-health for nearly two years and had become gradually worse during the past two weeks.

Mrs Daugherty had made her home with her daughter and family south of town for many years.
