Pauline H. Ducharme, 86, of Superior, passed away in Superior on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009. She was born on Jan. 31, 1923 in Woodville, Neb.

Pauline grew up in Nebraska, attended college, became certified to teach school, and taught school for several years before moving to Pennsylvania and then to Arizona in 1964. Living in Globe, she clerked at J.C. Penney's for many years before retiring. In Superior she was a devout member of the First Baptist Church, serving as a teacher and a deaconess; important to her was her daily reading of the Bible.

Talented in many ways, she wrote poetry, did embroidery and crocheted. She was a wonderful cook and was well-known for her wonderful bread, hot-cross buns and cinnamon rolls. A devoted mother and grandmother, she will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her children, Robert (Sylva) Ducharme of Litchfield Park, Kay (Edward) Chavez of Superior, Donald (Adela) Ducharme of Globe, Diana (Buck) Hallsey of Sierra Vista, and Lenny Ducharme of Apache Junction; a sister, Eileen Faaborg of Dannebrog, Neb.; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Superior Funeral Home, 379 Ray Road in Superior.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12 with Pastor Joe Palmer officiating at the First Baptist Church, located at the corner of Crowe and Belmont in Superior.

Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Superior.
