12/24/59-11/9/09

Colleen was born in Minnesota to Ruth Elaine McCoy and Delano William Hoss. Colleen moved to Prescott Valley, Ariz., in 1974, where she resided for the next 35 years. She was in one of the first graduating classes of Bradshaw Mountain High School. She lived an active, joyful, colorful life, full of friends, dancing, camping, sports, creative crafting of all sorts, laughing, and lots of love. She also enjoyed the nearly 20 years of customer service at Sturm Ruger, where she touched many lives.

Most of all, she cherished her three beautiful daughters, Gwendolyn Elaine Reed of Western Colorado and Denise Dawn Reed (D.D.) and Kirstine Kathryn Carter of Prescott Valley, Ariz.

Colleen leaves behind her husband Perry Carter of Prescott Valley.

Colleen, one of six children, is survived by her three brothers, Robin Hoss and Kevin Hoss of Prescott Valley and Darwin Hoss of Missouri, and her sister Noreen Cox of Western Colorado. Colleen also had a wealth of close family and friends and will be missed dearly by many.

Colleen was a beautiful soul who had a huge heart and loved all unconditionally. She ultimately passed due to a rare heart condition, 17 years after surviving lymphoma cancer.

A celebration of Colleen's life will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prescott, Ariz., 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009. A reception will follow services at Lifepointe Church Youth Center, 10100 Highway 69, Prescott Valley (2 miles east of Robert Road); food and drinks will be provided. All are encouraged to attend both events - and feel free to wear colorful clothing.
