Mary Jo Sampley of Chino Valley and formerly of Aguila, died June 9 at her home in Chino Valley. She was 70.

Mrs. Sampley was born Sept. 4, 1925 in Oil City, La. She had lived in Arizona for the past 40 years.

Mrs. Sampley was the wife of the late D.M. Sampley. Together the couple operated a successful business, Sampley's Aviation, in Aguila. Inde¬pendently she operated mines, a ranch, and a sewing business.

Survivors include a daughter, Daisy Huey of Tupelo, Miss.; four sons, David Slaughter, Thomas Slaughter, Frank Poyner, and Robert Bracken, of Chino Valley; and a sister, Lenora Brightwell of Las Vegas, Nev.

Services will be a 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery. Henry A. "Hank" Brubaker will officiate.

All arrangements were handled by Brown's Wickenburg Funeral Home.
