Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona June 19, 1996 Ethel S. Drake of Wickenburg, died June 13 in Wickenburg. She was 87. Mrs. Drake was born Sept. 2, 1908 in E. Huntingdon, Penn. She had lived in Arizona for the past nine years, coming from California. Mrs. Drake was a retired teacher, having worked 33 years in California and Pennsylvania. She was a member of the Nuevo Lakeview Grange and the Women's Club, both in California. She enjoyed traveling around the coun¬try, and visited Canada and New Zealand as well. She also enjoyed cro¬cheting, making afghans, cooking, entertaining, playing cards, and trout fishing in California. Survivors include her husband, Arthur C. Drake of Sun City; son and daughter-in-law Lee and Ellen Murdock of Wickenburg; son Ralph W. Murdock of La Pine, Ore.; six grandchildren, including Laura Kelly and Lyle Murdock, both of Laveen; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-grand¬child; and two nieces of California. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ralph W. Murdock, Sr. and Neal Engasser; one sister and two brothers. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 20 at 1 p.m. in Frey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, with interment at a later date in California. Pastor Bruce Baker will officiate. Memorial contributions in Mrs. Drake's name may be made to The Ethel S. Drake Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 20365, Wickenburg, Ariz. 85358.
