Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona January 3, 1996 Arthur Castro of Chino Valley died Dec. 30 in the Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott. He was 63. Mr. Castro was born Aug. 3, 1932 in Wickenburg. He was a 1951 graduate of Wickenburg High School, where he was considered an outstanding athlete. Mr. Castro enlisted in the Navy in 1952, serving four years. In 1958 he married his wife, Barbara, who survives him in Wicken¬burg. Shortly after their marriage the couple moved to Southern California where Mr. Castro was employed by R. E. Hazard as a labor foreman, constructing bridges throughout California. After 30 years of employment, he was injured on the job and after recovering retired and relocated to Arizona and Chino Valley, where he and his wife built their home. Mr. Castro loved his family and was extremely proud of it. He inspired and enriched all those who knew him. Survivors include his wife, Barbara, of Chino Valley; sons George and Richard Castro, both of California; a daughter, Cristina Tyrrell of Idaho; five grandchildren; brothers Coney Orosco of Wickenburg, Raymond Espinoza and Fred Garcia of California, and Joe Garcia, Rudy Garcia and Adolph Garcia of Arizona; sisters Lilly Macias and Anita Garcia of Arizona, Irene Moya and Delores Hilerio of New Mexico, and Vera Cheatham of Illinois; and numerous nieces and cousins. Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 5 from 6-8 p.m. at the Wickenburg Funeral Home Chapel, with Rosary taking place at 7:30. Funeral services will be in St. Anthony's Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, with burial following in the Garcia Cemetery. Fr. John Vogt will officiate. See Also: Find A Grave |
