Louis M. Gallegos, of Phoenix, died Feb. 14 in Phoenix. He was 64.

Mr. Gallegos was born April 15, 1931 in Harding, N.M. He has lived in Arizona for 10 years, coming here from Colorado.

Mr. Gallegos was a U.S. Army World War II. He enjoyed taking his grandchildren to work with him. He also taught his sons and sons-in-law the art of masonry. He was remembered as a good husband, grand-father and great-grandfather.

Mr. Gallegos was an excellent bookkeeper and enjoyed boating and picnicking. He loved to gamble, and said at the end he gambled with his life and lost.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary, of Phoenix; daughter Linda Mae Gallegos of Denver, Colo.; daughters and sons-in-law Virginia and David Martinez of Denver, Bertha and Silviano Garcia of Glendale, Donna; and Fidel Robles of Commerce City, Colo., Lydia and Mike Swan of Denver, and Angela Garcia and Marvin Cook of Wittmann; son Anthony Gallegos of Denver; sons and daughters-in-law Louis Jr. and Linda Sue of Denver, and Albert and Margaret of Glendale; mother Eutimia Gallegos of New Mexico; sisters and brothers-in-law Mary and Henry Gutierrez of Midland, Texas, Lucy and Joe Cordova of Tucumcari, N.M., and Carmen and Chapo Garcia Tucumcari; brothers and sisters-in-law Ed and Lilly Mae of Dalhart, Texas, Felix and Lou of Tucumcari, Lorenzo and Pauline of Tucumcari, Philly and Theresa of Logan, N.M., Henry and Armalinda of Dallas, Texas, Mike and Priscilla of Tucumcari, and Wilford and Gloria of Albuquerque, N.M., 32 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas, and brother, Onesemo.

Visitation, funeral services and Mass have been held with burial in the Congress Cemetery. Father John Vogt officiated.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Gallegos name to Louis Gallegos Memorial Fund, Lincoln Health Credit Union, 250 E. Dunlap; Phoenix, Ariz. 85020-2871, Acct. No: 458900.

Frey Funeral Home and Cremation Service handled all arrangements.
