John Henry Woodward
(May 17, 1914 - September 20, 2006)

John Henry Woodward, 92, of Flagstaff, passed away at The Peak Assisted Living facility on Wednesday morning, September 20, 2006.

He was born May 17, 1914 in Clarion, Iowa to Francis Henry John and Meta Hansen-Hjort Woodward.

Mr. Woodward served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and is a Purple Heart recipient. During the war he was missing in action, later found as a German Prisoner of War.

Mr. Woodward worked for the Gas and Electric Company in San Diego, CA for over 30 years. He enjoyed football, gardening and most of all, being with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Ellen Woodward and his daughter Joan Woodward Armitage, both of Flagstaff.

Interment will take place on Friday, September 22, 2006 in the Veteran's Section of Citizens Cemetery, Flagstaff, AZ.

Arrangements are under the direction of Norvel Owens Mortuary.
