William Marvin Hammond

FINAL RITES FOR WILLIAM HAMMOND OF CONGRESS WERE HELD IN PHOENIX SATURDAY. HE DIED ON HIS 57TH BIRTHDAY.

Funeral services for William Hammond of Congress were held November 3 in Phoenix with burial in Memory Lawn Cemetery there. He died at his Congress home October 30, his 57th birthday, of a heart attack.

VETERAN OF TWO WARS
Mr Hammond was born in New Orleans. After World War I, in which he served in the Navy, he moved to Congress in November of 1950.

FIVE CHILDREN SURVIVE
In addition to the widow, Ruby Ethel Hammond, five children survive. They are Lt. John A. Hammond of San Antonio, Texas; Pfc, Charles L. Hammond of St. Louis; and three daughters, Janet, Cheryl Ann and Mary Lou, all at home. The widow and three daughters this week moved from Congress to Phoenix. Also surviving are three sisters and two brothers.
