Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ, Friday, June 30, 1950 ELTON VAS BINDER DIES IN DETROIT Elton Vas Binder, father of Mrs Robert DcDermott of Wickenburg, died last Friday night in Detroit just as he was preparing to come to Wickenburg by chartered airplane ambulance. Mr and Mrs McDermott had been in Detroit making arrangements for Mr. Vas Binder's trip here and left there on Wednesday of last week. They telephoned back on Friday night to inform the Vas Binder family of their expected time of arrival in Wickenburg when they learned that Mr Vas Binder had died that evening. They proceeded to Wickenburg. MR. Vas Binder had purchased property on the Phx Highway three years ago and his wife had been living here. He was due to retire in a year from the Chrysler Corporation in Detroit and to move here. When he became ill, the plans were changed to bring him here immediately. Funeral services were held in Detroit on Tuesday. In addition to the widow and Mrs. McDermott, he is survived by a son, Roy of Detroit, and a daughter, Vera Stein, also of Detroit. Mrs. Vas Binder will return to Wickenburg within a few weeks to make her home here. |
