| The Gazette, Cedar Rapids-Iowa City, Iowa December 13, 2002, page 4 Hartzell Young Owens, 91, of Prescott, formerly of Shellsburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, in Prescott. Services were held on Nov. 25, with burial in Mountain View Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Hartzell was born Dec. 10, 1910, in Shellsburg, to Everett and Dessie Young Owens. Mr. Owens was a gentleman farmer in Iowa who retired in 1950 and moved to Prescott. Survivors include two daughters, Judy Lewis of Prescott Valley and Parka Yeary of Helena, Mont.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a dear lady friend of 13 years, Wilma Thorpe; and a brother, Boyd Owens of Palo.
