DEATH CLAIMS GEORGE GARCIA

George Garcia 29 years old and member of the U. S. Army, passed away Tuesday at a training center in Texas following an attack of pneumonia, according to advice received by his mother, Mrs Marcelina Garcia of Wickenburg.

George was born and raised in Wickenburg and completed his sophomore year at the Wickenburg High School. He joined the Army about two months ago, and was sent to Texas to commence military training.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a small son, and three brothers, Joe and Adoph, who are now in service, and Rudy, and three sisters, Anita, Jaime, and Alvira of Wickenburg.

The body will be shipped to Wickenburg for funeral services at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, with the Rev. G. M. Feeney, officiating, however date and time were incomplete at this writing.

George is the third boy from Wickenburg who has given his life for his
country.

George Garcia, 29, who died last week following an illness contracted while in training in the U.S. Army, was laid to rest in the Catholic Cemetery last Sunday afternoon following services conducted at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church by the Rev. G. M. Feeney.

Military services were held at the cemetery with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and a squad of soldiers from Echeverria Field in charge.

His two brothers, Joe, and Adolph, members of the armed forces, were able to be home on leave to attend the funeral.

A cousin, Willie Garcia, came here from the coast and several other out-of-state relatives were in attendance.
