Verona Kathleen Casey, 72, of Casa Grande died Dec. 31, 2002 at RTA Hospice House. The memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at United Methodist Church of Casa Grande, with the Revs. Larry Baker and Carolyn Scribner officiating.

Mrs. Casey was born Sept. 30, 1930 in Seattle to Sir William Herbert Ballenton Webb and Merle Hannah Webb. She was an active member of Order of the Eastern Star for 54 years and held numerous offices, including grand worthy matron of Washington state. She also was active in her church and as a hospice volunteer.

Survivors include three daughters, Kathleen Hewitt of Casa Grande, Eileen Piper of Montana and Elizabeth Thompson of Washington; a son, Michael of Washington; a niece and two nephews that she and her husband raised, Billie Lynn Curtis, David and Lewis Curtis; a sister, Mary Louise Nudleman, all of Washington; 28 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee, in 2001. Memorial contributions may be made to: RTA Hospice Foundation, 1675 E. Monument Plaza Drive, Casa Grande 85222, or a charity of the donor's choice. (
