Jerry Kimmell, was a native of Phoenix. He was born on September 4, 1930 and raised on a dairy farm in West Phoenix.

He attended Issac Grade School, Phoenix Union High School and Phoenix College. It was at Phoenix College where he met Mary, his wife and soul mate of 52 years. They have three children, Bob, Rose and Mike, and two grandchildren, Jason and Shanan, who live in Phoenix.

Jerry was a simple man who loved his family and loved the life he had with his wife Mary and their family. They enjoyed vacations, trips and doing things together. There are a lot of great memories of those years. Jerry joined the Phoenix Police Department in 1957. He was able to reach the Command Officer rank of Major prior to retiring after 30+ years of service.

He and Mary moved to Club West in 1995. He enjoyed all the new friends they made at Club West. Golf became a favorite pastime of his; he loved it so much he decided to go back to work and became a ranger at the Club West Golf Course. Jerry was a member of the Corpus Christi Church, Fraternal Order of Police lodge #2, and the YMCA "Early Birds'.

Memorial Mass will be held Friday, January 3, 2003 at 9:30 a.m., Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 3550 E. Knox Rd., Phoenix, Az.

Family suggests contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, Az. 85014.
