Arizona State Miner (Wickenburg) Saturday, April 18, 1925, p 8 c 2 Another of the old pioneers who are going across at rate of about two a week in Arizona and depleting the ranks by about that margin, passed over at Tempe last Week. She was Mrs Lizzie Warner of Warner Hts., Phoenix, where she has been a resident for over 40 years. Until her recent illness, Mrs Warner was active in Eastern Star and Boy Scout movements. She recently deeded a tract of land to the Boy Scouts as an inducement for good deeds. She was the survivor of the five charter members of the Eastern Star. Robert Morris, founder of the order, conferred the degree on Clara Barton, Olive Logan, Mrs Haze (Mrs Warner), and the wife of the Bates hotel proprietor. For three years Mrs Warner was grand matron of Texas. She is survived by her husband, F L Warner, who has passed his 93rd birthday. [dod 6 Apr 1925] See Also: Find A Grave |
