Arizona State Miner (Wickenburg) Saturday, April 18, 1925, p 8 c 5 Another Pioneer Answers Roll Call John R. Lyon, an officer in the Confederate army during the Civil War and at one time a wealthy cattle man in southern Arizona and Mexico, died at the State Pioneers' Home in Prescott last week. His body will be shipped to his old home at Danville, Ky., for burial. Lyon was one of the Confederate officers who carried the wounded Stonewall Jackson from the field of Chancellorsville, and he will be buried with other heroes of the Civil War at his former Kentucky home. |
