The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Wednesday, January 1, 2003 W. Duncan Porter, Long time resident of Carefree, Az. W. Duncan Porter, 59, passed away on December 27 at the University of Arizona Medical Center in Tucson, Az. He is survived by his sisters Jeanie Fehringer of American Falls, Id., LaRita Taylor of Ponca City, Okla. and his companion Carolyn Porter. Duncan was a graduate of Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas with a degree in business. He was active in politics and was a state representative for the Young Republicans during the Barry Goldwater campaign. Duncan established several businesses in Kansas and moved to Arizona in 1973 where he formed W.D.Porter Sales and Marketing Inc. and European Trading Co., an international importing company. From 1986 through 1999 he was the owner of the Carefree Trade Center and the Howard Building in Carefree, Az. Duncan was one of the original founders and sponsors for the Foothills 10K. Duncans greatest gift to his friends and family was his unique sense of humor. We will miss the laughter. Services will be held in celebration of his life on Friday Jan. 3, 2003-11 a.m. at the Desert Hills Presbyterian Church in Carefree, Az. Donations may be made in his memory for cancer research to Wines For Life 14200 East Moncrieff Pl. Suite E, Aurora, olo., 80011 to the attention of Micheal Geller. |
