The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Wednesday, January 1, 2003 Charles Michael Thornburg, passed away on December 5, 2002. Michael was the son of Wayne & Georgia Thornburg of Muncie, Indiana and is survived by his sister Ann Curtis of Parker City, Indiana. Michael earned a B.A. and M.A. in Philosophy from Earlham College in Richmond, Ind.; a Master of Divinity from Episcopal Theological Seminary in Cambridge, Mass., and a PhD in Church History from Hartford Seminary in West Hartford, Conn.. He taught at Fairfield University in Fairfield, Conn. for a number of years and served in the Episcopal dioceses of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. Michael is survived by his wife Joyce Vidal-Thornburg of Chandler, Ariz., daughters Sarah Westcott of Auburn, Mass. and Laura Unfrich of Freeport, Maine; and step-sons Dean Vidal of New York, N.Y., Jason Jimenez of Portland, Ore., and Damon Jimenez of Providence R.I. Michael will also be missed by his three grandsons, Jasper, Jonthan, and Andrew. A memorial service will be held for Michael at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, 25 South Street, in Litchfield, Connecticut 06759 on January 4, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. |
