Mrs. Elizabeth Truman Grant Baughn, 77, of Professional Care Nursing Home, Hartford, Kentucky, died Friday, Nov. 29, 1991, at Ohio County Hospital, Hartford. She was born in Ohio County and was retired director of the Instructional Materials Center of Maryvale High School, Phoenix, Ariz. She was a graduate of Western Kentucky University and received a master's degree from the University of Illinois. She was a teacher at Dundee and Utica high schools in Kentucky; at Emerson High School in Gary, Ind.; in Owensboro and in Portales, N.M., before moving to Phoenix. In the summer of 1965 she was one of 30 librarians in the United States invited to participate in the N.D.E.A. Institute of Librarians at the University of Minnesota. She was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church, Rho Chapter Delta Kappa Gamma, Fort Hartford Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Cumberland Trace Chapter of the American Colonists, Col. Thomas Hardy Chapter of Colonial Dames XVII, Sons and Daughters of Pilgrims and Huguenot Society of Arizona, Phoenix and Arizona Retired Teachers Association and a charter member of the Ohio County Historical Society. Her husband, Walton Orion Baughn, died in 1988. Survivors include two half brothers, Judge L.T. Grant of Lexington and Robert M. Grant of Brandenburg; a half sister, Mrs. Donald (Barbara) Spencer of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews. Services were Monday, Dec. 2, 1991, at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home, Hartford. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation Sunday at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Baptist Children's Home, 10801 Shelbyville Road, Middletown, Ky. 40243, or to the donor's favorite charity.
