Helen B. Gieske

A Mass of Christian Burial for Helen B. Gieske, a retired registered nurse, will be Thursday, Nov. 21, 1991, in St. Agnes Catholic Church in Phoenix, Ariz. Entombment will be in St. Francis Mausoleum in Phoenix .

She died of heart problems Sunday in her Southwest Portland home at the age of 79.

Born Nov. 24, 1911, in Corning, N.Y., she was a graduate of the Cornell University School of Nursing. She married John F. Gieske in 1941 in Scottsdale, Ariz. Mrs. Gieske was licensed to practice nursing in Arizona, Nevada, Oregon and New York.

She lived in Phoenix for 30 years before moving to the Portland area in 1987. She was a member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church. Her husband died in 1961.

Survivors include her sons, R. John of Cupertino, Calif., and Steve of Cornelius; and five grandchildren.

The family suggests remembrances be contributions to a favorite charity.
