Mary J. (Buchen) Fifer

Mary J. Fifer, 68, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Canton, Illinois, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 1991, at her sister's residence in Phoenix.

Born Aug. 30, 1923, in Canton to Bert L. and Edith Melgreen Buchen, she married Orien Fifer Jr. One son, Robert Stephen Elam; one brother; and one sister also preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sisters, Charlotte Buchen of Phoenix and Mrs. T.M. (Pauline) Arbogast of Canton.

She worked at International Harvester and Hiram Walker in Peoria before moving to Phoenix in 1956. She then worked for the Arizona State Land Department and later worked as a linage analyst for the Arizona Republic and Phoenix Gazette.

Services Thursday, January 2, 1992, at A.L. Moore & Sons Mortuary, Phoenix.

Memorial services Saturday at First Baptist Church in Canton. Burial in Greenwood Memorial Park Cemetery, Phoenix.
