Dorothy Birmingham Ruggles, born in Phoenix, Ariz., on Aug. 14, 1926, passed away Jan. 14, 2008.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Leo Ruggles; her parents, William and Fay (Little) Birmingham; and her sister Alice Adams.

Living in Prescott for the past 18-1/2 years, she was involved in the Prescott Noon Lioness. She was in Phi Beta Kappa, Phoenix.

She is survived by sister Merle White; sister and brother-in-law Norma and O.L. Henderson; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Beatrice Ruggles Hawkins and Bob Hawkins; daughters Patricia (Patti) Robison of Prescott; Sharon Ruggles-Leonard of Houston; son Robert Ruggles of Desert Hills.

Her family invites friends to her visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at Chapel of the Chimes, 7924 N. 59th Ave., Glendale. Her funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, at Chapel of the Chimes. Graveside service will be at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, 2300 W. Van Buren St., Phoenix, Ariz., followed by a 4 p.m. Celebration of Life reception Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, at her son Robert and daughter-in-law Carol’s, 419 West Olesen Rd., Desert Hills. Officiating will be Pastor Tom Vasilow.
