| The Verde Independent, AZ Saturday, November 21, 2009 Francis "Frank" "Pappy" Earl Cowperthwait, 79, of Camp Verde, passed away November 20, 2009. He was born January 23, 1930 in Mt. Holy, New Jersey to the late Raymond and Ruth (Taylor) Cowperthwait. Frank served in both the US Navy and the US Airforce during the Korean War. He worked as a firefighter in Fagstaff and later retired as Captain. Frank is survived by his wife of 46 years, Helen Cowperthwait; his sons, Bob Cowperthwait (Mary) of Battleground, Washington and Robbie Cowperthwait (Donna) of Aurora, Missouri; his daughters, Karen Watson (John) of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Janice Fann (Scott) of Phoenix, Arizona, Joni Abney (Rick) of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; his sister Doris Foulk of Mt. Holly, New Jersey; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be 1:00pm Monday, November 23, 2009 at Western Horizons RV Park Clubhouse, 1472 W. Horseshoe Bend Dr., Camp Verde, Arizona.
