West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona February 2, 2002 Jerome Anthony Patterson Sr., 81 of Goodyear, died Jan. 20, 2007, of complications from pneumonia. Mr. Patterson was born June 9, 1925, in Evanston, Ill., to Ruth and Don Patterson. Before moving to Goodyear, Mr. Patterson lived in Binghamton, N.Y., Montrose, Pa. and Granbury and Midlothian, Texas. He served as a Naval officer during World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Patterson graduated in 1945 from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and. for more than 50 years, worked in the structural steel business. Mr. Patterson was an active member of a number of Episcopal churches, including St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Litchfield Park. He volunteered his time serving as a board member of the Tri Cities Opera Co., Susquehanna Valley Children's Home and Roberson Memorial Cultural Center, all in Binghamton, N.Y. Mr. Patterson is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth; one daughter, Elizabeth White; three sons, Jerome Jr., Mark and Robert; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 400 S. Old Litchfield Road in Litchfield Park, where memorials also may be sent.
