The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Friday, January 3, 2003 Fred O. Newton, 90, of Scottsdale, Az. passed away Jan. 2, 2003. Born in Muskogee, Ill. on July 25, 1912, he moved to Scottsdale, Az. 31 years ago from Evanston, Ill. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1933 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and was Vice President of Universal Oil Products in Des Plaines, Ill. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Scottsdale and of Paradise Valley Country Club. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty; sons, Robert (Ruth) and Charles; brother, Howard; grandchildren, Christopher, Thomas, Robert, Kelly, and David Newton; great-grandchildren, Brennan and Reygan Newton. Visitation will be held on Fri., Jan. 3, 2003, from 3-5 p.m. at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Rd., Scottsdale, Az. Funeral Mass will be held on Sat., Jan. 4, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the Mortuary Chapel. |
