Violet Dreathy (Jones) Turner

Violet Dreathy Jones Turner was born on July 29, 1926 in Woodland, Texas. She passed away January 1, 2003 at the age of 76 in Chandler, Arizona where she has resided since 1940.

She was retired from Basha's after 15 years of service. During World War II she worked at Williams Air Force Base and was a finalist in the Miss Williams Air Force Base Beauty Pageant. She met the man who was to be her husband of 56 years at the Chandler Post Office.

She is survived by her husband John L. Turner; three daughters, Elizabeth Gray of Auburn, Wash., Patricia Kent of Corona, Calif. and Louise Covey of Manassas, Va.; one son, James Turner of Gilbert, Az. She is also survived by four granddaughters, four grandsons, three great-grandsons and one brother, John Thomas Jones, San Demas, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lillian Jones, brother, Harvey Jones and grandson, Charles Clifford Johnson Gray.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 4, 2003 at Chandler Church of Christ, 445 N. Alma School Road in Chandler, Az.
