The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Saturday, January 4, 2003 Dale W. (Mick) McGuire, of Topeka, Kansas was born February 12, 1917 in Colony, Kansas to Hattie (White) McGuire and Fred Sheldon McGuire. He married Jeanne Y. Klepper on September 3, 1940. Mick, as he preferred to be called, moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1935, where he resided until moving to a care facility in Topeka, Kansas, in December 2001. He retired from the US Postal Service in 1973 after thirty-four years of service. He began his career as a postal clerk in World War II and retired from the position of Superintendent of Collection & Delivery for the greater Phoenix area. He served on the Executive Board of the Phoenix Postal Service. He was preceded in death by his wife, of 53 years, Jeanne Y. Klepper. Survivors are his daughter, Marcia Johnson of Topeka, Kansas; two grandchildren, Yvonne Murphy of Topeka, Kansas and Brett Johnson of Olathe, Kansas; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Turpin of Austin, Texas and Lois Trammel of Dallas, Texas. Cremation will take place. Private family service. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements in Topeka, Kansas. |
