Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona Thursday, November 26, 2009 Donald Roger Gunnell, 77, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, in Flagstaff. Mr. Gunnell was born Feb. 22, 1932, in Staten Island, N.Y., to Frank and Alberta Gunnell. He moved to Arizona in the 1960s and worked for Southwest Forest Industries and for Flagstaff Public Schools as custodian for Marshall School and Coconino High School. He loved the outdoors, including camping and fishing. He loved his family and is forever in their hearts. He enjoyed his retirement by reading, doing crossword puzzles, and going out and cutting wood. He is survived by his daughter, Merrie Gunnell; son Bud Gunnell; and three cousins. A visitation will be Sunday, 6 to 8 p.m., at Norvel Owens Mortuary Chapel, 914 E. Route 66, in Flagstaff. Funeral services will be Monday, at 10 a.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Lake Mary Chapel, 4165 Lake Mary Road. Burial will be at Citizens Cemetery.
