Randy Floyd Ham, 47, found peace in the arms of the Lord when he died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at his Show Low home and was finally able to leave his worldly troubles behind.

Randy was born on March 29, 1962, in Phoenix to Herbert Charles and Barbara Jean (Merrill) Ham Sr. He was a 1980 graduate of Washington High School in Phoenix.

The following year in 1981, Randy enlisted in the U.S. Army and served overseas in Germany until he received his honorable discharge in 1983.

Following his military service, he worked as an electrician for Kearney Electric in Phoenix for three years. Randy was very gifted in that occupation and was even able to wire his parents' home over the years.

He was naturally a quiet man and found great joy and comfort through music; he enjoyed listening to all types. Randy enjoyed the beauty of the great outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed staying in excellent physical shape by working out regularly.

Randy was a born-again Christian and had a personal relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a member of New Hope Christian Fellowship in Show Low, and many there will miss his mild ways, manners and friendship.

Randy is survived by his parents, Herb Sr. and Barbara Ham of Show Low; sister Lynn Spire (Kari) of Avondale; two brothers, Herb (Myrna Garcia-Ham) Ham Jr. of Mesa and Rodney Ham of Show Low; aunts and uncles Janet Merrill, Winifred (Sank) Bolen, Frances Bourne, Kathy (Tim) Woods and Clarence Hancock; 13 nieces and nephews; and four grand-nephews.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at Owens Livingston Mortuary, White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th St. in Show Low, with Pastor Tom Brown of New Hope Christian Fellowship officiating.

Owens Livingston Mortuary of Show Low handled arrangements.
