| The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Sunday, January 5, 2003 Grace Darel Buie of Chandler, Arizona died January 3, 2003 at home, following a lengthy illness. She was 79. Grace was born in Batesville, Arkansas on October 2, 1923 to the late Peter L. and Ruth (Brown) Grooms. She moved to Arizona from her native Arkansas in 1955 and worked many years as a bank teller. She is survived by her four daughters:,Darel Lynn (Gary) Ladd, Elizabeth (Sam) Goodwin, Billie Jobe, Paulette (Al) Roos; brother, Henry Grooms; three sisters, Lois McMillen, Eula Croft, Bernice Dodd; six grandchildren and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Buster Buie in 1999. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2003 at The Chapel of Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Drive in Chandler where visitation will be 1 hour prior. Memorial Gifts to Chandler Church of Christ, 445 N. Alma School Road, Chandler, AZ 85225 or to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, Az., 85014 have been suggested by her family. |
