The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Sunday, January 5, 2003 James (Joe) Carbacio, a long time baseball legend in the "Valley of the Sun", James Carbacio, died December 28, 2002 in Phoenix, Arizona at the age of 91. James was born May 3, 1911 in Blaine, West Virginia - living his younger years in the city of Keyser. He was born the son of Giusseppi and Leornarda DiMartini Corbaccio. James is survived by his loving wife, Rose Mary Carbacio; daughters, Patricia Ann Carbacio and Eleanor Sahlin, son, Joseph Carbacio; grandchildren, Michele and Stephanie Sahlin. Donations may be made to the Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, Arizona, 85014. Plans are being made to establish a scholarship fund in the name of Joe Carbacio. A viewing for family and friends will be held Friday, January 3, 2003 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. with the funeral services beginning at 7:00 p.m., both will be held at the Paradise Chapel Funeral Home, 3934 East Indian School Road, Phoenix, Arizona. |
