Black's Mortuary, Show Low, Arizona Miriam Ann Britt (June 13, 1930 - October 2, 2009) Miriam Ann Britt, 79, of Pinetop and Scottsdale, passed away at her Pinetop home on Friday, October 2, 2009. She was born June 13, 1930, at Nashville, TN, the daughter of Samuel Edward and Marium (Newcombe) Wasson. She was raised in Donaldson, TN, where she graduated from Donaldson High School in 1952. She graduated from the St. Thomas College of Nursing in Nashville with a degree in nursing in 1952. She was married to Richard Dean Britt on April 6, 1957, at Nashville. The couple came to Arizona in 1957 where she became a homemaker and mother. She was a member of the Church of the Beatitudes in Phoenix and was very active in the Democratic Party. She was a member of the White Mountain Country Club and she very much enjoyed her home in White Mountain Summer Homes. Survivors include a daughter, Beth Britt, of Scottsdale; a son, Chris Britt and wife Nicky of Springfield, IL; three brothers, Sam Wasson, III of Chiefland, FL; Pat Wasson of Orlando, FL and Newcombe Wasson of Chiefland, FL; three grandchildren, Seth and Hannah Jones of Scottsdale and Emily Britt of Springfield, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 23, 2009, at the Church of the Beatitudes, 555 W. Glendale Avenue in Phoenix. Memorials may be made to Beatitudes Age Link Scholorship Fund. |
