Charles "Doug" Williams
(March 13, 1943 - October 14, 2009)

Charles “Doug” Williams, 66, of Pie Town, NM, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at the White Mountain Medical Center in Springerville.

He was born March 13, 1943, at Atlanta, GA, the son of Charles E., and Louise (Snipes) Williams. He was raised in Atlanta and graduated from Campbell High School at Smyrna, GA, in 1961. He attended college in Georgia and began work at Lockheed Aerospace. He moved to Florida where he was employed at the NASA Space Center.

He last worked at McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach, CA. He was married to the former Darlene Baak on September 19, 1993, in Las Vegas, NV. He moved to Pie Town in July, 2006. He enjoyed golf, ranch work and driving his tractor. He converted to the Later Day Saints faith and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Pie Town Branch. He will be remembered for his vitality and sense of humor.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene, of the home; daughter, Lisa Edmonson and husband Rich of North Charlston, South Carolina; son, Ken and wife Renee Williams of Fort Worth, TX; step-daughter, Jennifer Camacho of Las Vegaas, NV; sister, Charlene Miller of Marietta, GA; and six grandchildren, Oliver Williams, Tristana Williams, Daniel Edmonson, Chloe Williams, Matthew Edmonson and Donovan Williams.

He was preceded in death by his parents and twin brothers Ronnie and Randy; and a grandson, Dalton Williams.

A memorial was held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, October 23, 2009, at the Pie Town branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
