Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ, Friday, November 7, 1941 VINCENT L. MCDONALD FUNERAL SET TODAY Funeral services will be conducted at the St. Francis Xavier Church in Phoenix at 10 o'clock this morning (Friday) for Vincent L. McDonald, 32 years old, who died Monday morning in a Phoenix hospital. The rosary was recited last night at 8 p. m. at the J. T. Whitney Chapel, Phoenix. A native of Council Bluffs, Ia., Mr McDonald came to Arizona twelve years ago and served as state representative for the American Tobacco Co. He married Adelaide O'Brien of Wickenburg September 1, 1934 and was manager of the Bar FX guest ranch south of Wickenburg three seasons. He was with a Los Angleles advertising firm for a short time after that and returned to Arizona to purchase the Arrowhead Station near Congress, where he was residing at the time of his death. Mr McDonald was taken suddenly ill last Friday while on a hunting trip in the Bradshaw mountains and was rushed to a Phoenix hospital early Saturday. Death was caused by streptocaccie meningitis resulting likely from a weakened condition due to an attack of pnumonia two years ago, doctors stated. In addition to his wife, Adelaide, and a five-year old son, Bryan, he is survived by his mother, Mrs Rose McDonald, and eight brothers and sisters, all of Council Blffs. His mother and a brother arrived in Phoenix yesterday for the funeral services. Mrs McDonald and her son, Bryan are remaining at the home of an aunt, Mrs Angela Hammmer of Phoenix for a few weeks. Many messages of consulation from friends throughout Arizona and California have been received by the grief-stricken family. Mr McDonald's live was marked by his devotion to his family, and kindness to his fellowmen. His absence will leave a vacancy in the hearts of the many who knew him.
