Edith Dean Blunt
(April 6, 1917 - November 13, 2009)

Edith Dean (Stannard) Blunt, 92, of Show Low, passed away Friday, November 13, 2009 at the Carriage House in Snowflake. She was born April 6, 1917 in Lacrosse, Wisconsin to the late Walter and Edith (Will) Stannard.

Edith graduated from Aquinas High School and Layton Art School. Edith moved to California during WWII and worked at North American Aviation where she met and married Walter A. Blunt. Together they shared a life of adventure and exploration. Edith and her family spent several years in Switzerland where Walter worked for Microcard Corp. and did work for IGY and WMO. Later the family moved to Chandler, AZ where Edith owned and operated San Alvino Shoe Store for many years.

Edith is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Leone Shaw; her husband, Walter and son, Alvin Blunt.

She is survived by daughter, Sandra (John) Kleinman; Grandson, Sherrick Hardwick and family and a great-granddaughter, Ashley Klettke.

Private family services will be held. The family requests that donations be made in Edith's name to Our Savior Episcopal Church, 5147 Show Low Lake Rd., Show Low, Arizona 85901.
