The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Monday, January 6, 2003 Lois Virginia Miller passed away on January 1, 2003. Born August 29, 1918 in Tribune, Kansas to Captain Harold B. and Cora Marie White. Her grandfather was respected Iowa State Senator Harry White who was responsible for building the first school for the blind in Iowa. She lived in Ames, Iowa until age 8 when her family moved to Phoenix's Garfield District. Later the family moved to Laveen where she attended elementary school. Lois went three years to Phoenix Union High School and graduated from Glendale Union High School. She attended business college and worked as a secretary for a Phoenix Lawyer. On January 17, 1941 she married Allan Wesley Miller of Glendale who survives her along with their two children, Sharon Anne Moeller of Glendale and James Allan Miller of San Diego, Calif. She also leaves four grandchildren, Tonya Caiola and Christy Moeller-Masel of Glendale, and Tiffany Derksen and Karen Spencer of San Diego, and one great-grandson, Michael Derksen; two sisters, Maxine McGee of Glendale and Dorothy Evans of Ogden, Utah, nine nieces and seven nephews. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2003 at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 N. 59th Ave., Glendale, AZ. The Funeral Service will be at 2:0p.mM., Wednesday, January 8, 2003 at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary. Interment Resthaven Park Cemetery Glendale, Az. Memorial Contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. |
