The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Tuesday, January 7, 2003 Palmer Duke Keith, (PK), 80, died January 4, 2003 in Sun City, Az. Palmer was born on January 6, 1922 in Los Angeles, Calif. to Dr. Duke Keith and Harriet Palmer Keith. A visit to a Willcox ranch managed by his aunt and uncle about 1931 turned permanent. There he developed a lifelong love and aptitude for ranching and the cattle business. PK graduated from Willcox High School and attended the University of Arizona's School of Agriculture. He was a star athlete in all sports. Upon the attack on Pearl Harbor, he enlisted as a Marine and served two years in the Pacific. In 1944 he returned to Willcox and married the local school teacher, Ann Cowan. Palmer and Ann recently celebrated their 58th anniversary. He belonged to the Arizona Cattle Growers Association, Arizona Cattle Feeders, Arizona National Club, and many more organizations. PK is deeply loved and missed by all of his family and friends. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and his love for his family. He is survived by his wife, Ann, sons, Jed and Alan, daughters-in-law, Barbara and Karen, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and his sister, Norma Skjarseth. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2003 at Menke Mortuary 12420 North 103rd Avenue, Sun City, Az. |
