Rites Wednesday In Phoenix For L. Emory Stone

Masonic services were conducted at the Mercer Mortuary in Phoenix Wednesday morning for Lindsay Emory Stone of that city, son of Mr. & Mrs. Russell Stone of Wickenburg.

The Masons also conducted graveside rites at the Greenwood Cemetery there.

Mr. Stone died suddenly at 3 o'clock Sunday morning at his home at 1535 West Berridge Lane, Phoenix, of a heart attack.

Born in Williams September 15, 1911, Mr. Stone graduated from high school there, attended Arizona State College at Flagstaff for two years and then graduated in business administration from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kan.

He was with the Standard Oil Co. in Prescott and then in Winslow before joining the Santa Fe Railroad in 1936 in Winslow as a fireman, later advancing to engineer. During the 16 years he was in Winslow with the Santa Fe he served four years as the Navajo County
representative in the Arizona Legislature.

Four years ago Mr. Stone had a heart attack and retired from the Santa Fe to become a salesman for the Equitable Life Assurance Society. Two years ago he moved to Phoenix to become associated with the Dan Roe Agency, state agent for Equitable.

Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Arlene Stone; two children, Jerry 11, and Diane, 9; one sister, Mrs. Anna Killip of San Antonio, Texas; and his parents of Wickenburg. He was a member of the Masons, the Shrine and the Elks.
