The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Tuesday, January 28, 2003 Edward L. Norris, a prominent Phoenix insurance executive - died in Scottsdale, Az. on January 26, 2003, after a prolonged illness. Mr. Norris, a second generation Lithuanian-American was born in Hamtramck, a suburb of Detroit, Michigan on July 7, 1927 and grew up in Dayton, Ohio. At the age of 16, Mr. Norris joined the Navy and served honorably in the South Seas as a Navy Seabee until his discharge in 1946. Mr. Norris and his family moved to Ventura, California where he met and married his wife of 51 years, Mary Louise. Mr. Norris moved to the Valley in February of 1961 where he was an insurance agency owner until his retirement in 1993. Mr. Norris is survived by his loving wife, Louise, his children, Christine, Carrie, Eydie and Edward as well as his adoring grandchildren, Devin, Daphne, Emily, Derrick, Hailie and Jack. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2003 at 3 p.m. at Messinger Mortuary Chapel, 7601 E. Indian School Rd., Scottsdale, Az. Donations in Mr. Norris' name can be made to Disabled Veteran's Association, 38 W. Dunlap, Phoenix, z., 85021. |
