The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Tuesday, January 28, 2003 Paul LaMar Short, age 64, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away peacefully at his home on January 25, 2003. He was born July 11, 1938 in Archbold, Ohio to Dennis & Louella Short. The family moved to Phoenix in 1949. He graduated from Sunnyslope High School in 1956. Paul started working with the Highway Patrol in January 1963 in Holbrook, Az. He retired in February 1986 as a Sergeant with the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Paul is survived by his wife Joyce whom he was married to for 40 years; a son, Kelly and his wife; Tracy, a daughter, Teri Womack and her husband, Paul; grandchildren Justin Paul and Luke Jason Short, and Samantha Womack all of Phoenix, Az.; his brother, Ed (wife Betty) Short; sister, Loueen (husband Edwin) Burrows; sister-in-law, Ann Short, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by brothers Alvin, Marvin, Emerson, Herman Short, and parents Dennis & Louella Short. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Sunnyslope Mennonite Church, 9835 N. 7th Street, Phoenix, Az.,Z 85020 on Thursday, January 30, 2003 at 6:00 p.m. Contributions can be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E.
