| West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona February 24, 2009 Catherine J. Rice, 87, of Spring Valley and formerly Tolleson died Feb. 18, 2009. Mrs. Rice was born Sept. 22, 1921, in Burton, W.Va. She moved to Arizona 52 years ago. She worked in the food service department at Tolleson Elementary School for 13 years. In retirement, she volunteered for the Tolleson Senior Center. She is survived by two daughters, Janet Keesler and Theresa Mattingly; one son, Edwin Joe; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Crystal Rose Funeral Home, 9155 W. Van Buren St. in Tolleson. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Crystal Rose with interment to follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery in Glendale.
