Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ February 8, 1959 p. 10 Rites Monday For Mrs. Otey Christian Science services were held at 10 o'clock Monday morning in the Wickenburg Chapel for Mrs. Susan Otey who died in Community Hospital at 1 a. m. January 31 after an illness of 18½ months. Mrs. Esther Cessena of Tulare, Calif., a niece, conducted the service. Graveside rites in the Wickenburg Cemetery were conducted by the Rebekah Lodge of which Mrs. Otey was a member. Born in Tempe December 1, 1891, Mrs Otey spent her entire life in her native state. She was married to Charles W. Otey April 21, 1917, in Tucson and they moved to Wickenburg February 1, 1948. They resided at 129 North Washington Street. Survivors include the husband; one daughter, Mrs. Edith Ilg of Burbank, Calif.; one son, Charles E. Hand of Indianapolis, Ind.; one brother, Joe Urrea of Oracle; and three sisters, Mrs. Lupe Garcia of Tulare, Calif., Mrs. Beatrice Contreras of Los Angeles, and Mrs. Helen Cordova of Oracle. Here for the services were Mrs. Garcia and her two daughters, Mrs. Esther Cessena of Tulare and Mrs. Sarah Kindig of Whittier, Calif. Mrs. Otey was a charter member of the Rebekah Lodge of Casa Grande when it was organized in 1922. She was a charter member and the only past matron of the Wickenburg lodge when it was formed in 1955.
