William W. Gebhart Jr., 74, of Phoenix, Ariz., and formerly of Fairton in Fairfield Township, NJ, died Thursday, February 24, 1994, at South Jersey Hospital System, Millville Division, after taking ill while visiting friends in Mauricetown. Mr. Gebhart was employed by the State of Arizona as an electrical inspector before retiring nine years ago. He formerly worked for Suburban Propane in Bridgeton. Mr. Gebhart was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater. Born in Altoona, Pa., he lived in Phoenix for 25 years, after living in Fairton and Cedarville most of his life. He is survived by three sons, Charles R. of Millville, Francis Ernest of Lake Wales, and David of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three daughters, Alyce Hess of Millville, Jean Riley of Bridgeton and Darlene Salyer of Bay City, Mich.; two brothers, Lester of Fairton and Harry of Pennsylvania; two sisters, Mary Clark of Scottsdale and Ruby Smith of Pennsville; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Friends may call at Padgett Funeral Home, 100 N. Main St., Cedarville. Services will be held Wednesday at Grimshaw Bethany Chapel, Phoenix. Burial will be in Resthaven Park Cemetery, Phoenix.
