Capella Slipher Favour, 82, of Prescott, Arizona, passed away January 25, 2003.

Private family interment will be in the Slipher family plot in Flagstaff Citizens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to: Earl C. Slipher Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o N.A.U. Foundation, P.O. Box 4094, Flagstaff, Az., 86011.

Arrangements entrusted to Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, corner Cortez and Carlton, Prescott, AZ.

Capella Slipher Favour, died January 25, 2003 in Mesa, Arizona. She was born on October 6, 1920 in Flagstaff, Arizona to E.C. and Bess (Tidwell) Slipher Sr. She was 82 years old.

Capella grew up in Flagstaff on Mars Hill where her father and uncle were renowned astronomers at Lowell Observatory. She attended the University of Arizona prior to her marriage to A.L. Favour on September 11, 1940.

She is survived by her husband, A.L. Favour; son, Mark Slipher Favour and daughter, Allison Favour Kravetz of Prescott. She was the mother-in-law of Howard M. Kravetz and Susan Favour and grandmother to seven grandchildren. She also leaves her brother, Earl C. Slipher, Jr. and his wife, Gloria, of Flagstaff.

Capella was preceded in death by her son A.H. Favour on August 29, 2002.

Private family interment will be in the Slipher family plot in Flagstaff Citizens Cemetery.

Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral home assisted the family with arrangements.
