Clement Michael Ford

Clement Michael Ford, a member of St. Clement of Rome Parish, Sun City, 88, passed away on January 23, 2003.

He was born on a farm in Webster County, Iowa, to Michael Joseph Ford and Katherine Ellen Sinnett, on March 7, 1914. He lived in Fort Dodge, Iowa; Sioux City, Iowa; Moorhead, Minnesota; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Sun City, Arizona.

Mr. Ford was preceded in death: by his wife, Mildred Burk Ford; his grandson, Stephen Michael Ford; his son-in-law, Gary Packard Clausen; his daughter-in-law, Lois Ann Wehage Ford; and eight brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his sister, Helen Henry, his seven children: daughters Judith Ellen Ford (Gene Swartzfager), Sue Ford Clausen, Anne Ford Nelson (John), and sons Michael Clement Ford (Patricia Eastwood), Patrick Burk Ford (Angie), John Dennis Ford (Ginny), and William Thomas Ford (Pam).

He is also survived and remembered by his eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Mr. Ford's work history included: B & F Sales Company in Fort Dodge, Iowa; the Social Security Administration in Fort Dodge, Iowa and Sioux City, Iowa; and he was the manager of the Social Security Office in Fargo, North Dakota.

He was active in retirement as a member of a Serenity Prayer Spiritual Group, as the coordinator of lectors in his parish, and as an advisor to many on problems of aging and taxes. Clem was a card carrying Irish Catholic Democrat. His awareness of being responsible for society's marginalized and vulnerable people, was an incredible example for his children and grandchildren.

He was an exemplary grandfather who believed in each of his grandchildren.

The Celebration of Clem Ford's Life was held at his son John's home in Phoenix, Arizona, on Monday, January 27, 2003; and the Memorial Mass was held at St. Clement of Rome Church in Sun City, Arizona, on January 28, 2003, at 10:00 AM.

The family asks that memorial gifts be sent to Mr. Ford's nieces' mission to women in Torreon, Mexico. Gifts can be addressed to: Benedictine Sisters, Mexican Mission, 801 South 8th St., Atchison, Kansas, 66002. Attention: Sister Janelle Maes.
