The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona January 31 2003 Diane E. Genet, "Gama" "GG", Aug. 2, 1937 to Jan 23, 2003. Beloved mother to John Daniel, David Daniel, Debbie Livingston and Kim Miller, flew home after a short battle with lung cancer. She was born in Peoria, IL and raised in Indianapolis, IN., where she was a homemaker. She later became a counselor for the physically challenged at Meyer Chapel. She and her family moved to Scottsdale, AZ where she became a guidence counselor at the Arizona Girls School Correctional Facility. She then made her home in the White Mountain area of Show Low, AZ., where she became a laboratory assistant at Navaopache Regional Medical facility where she was honored with Employee of the Year. She had also become a trained Red Cross volunteer. She is also survived by husband Richard Genet and brother Dave Buttke. She loved the mountains and her "critters" but lived only for her family that included nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She will be sorely missed from those friends she cherrished and all those she touched with her special gift of love, laughter and compassion. A celebration of her life will take place Saturday Feb 1, at Papago Park, Scottsdale, AZ at 12:00 Ramada #16. All are welcome. "Little people make me smile."
