Phillip (Phil) Sekaquaptewa

Phillip Sekaquaptewa of Sipaulavi, Arizona, lost his battle with cancer on January. 21, 2003.

He was born on May 5, 1948. Phil was a talented artist who created beautiful jewelry and artwork. He won numerous awards for his unique style of Hopi overlay. Phil was a member of the Eagle clan, initiated into the Snake clan. He was very active in Hopi ceremonies, and truly enjoyed dancing and singing in social dances.

Phillip also enjoyed touring the golf courses of Northern AZ.

Phillip is survived by his daughter, Caroline Huma, son, Wayne Perry Sekaquaptewa, 3 granddaughters, Jaime Huma, Jelani Huma, and Seniesha Sekaquaptewa. He is also survived by his brothers, Ken, Harlan, and David, sisters Jeannie Groves, Helen Freeman, Patricia Sekaquaptewa, and Kimball Sekaquaptewa, along with their families.

Phil also leaves behind his beloved dogs Drexler, Bambi and Bob. He was preceded in death by father Wayne Sekaquaptewa and mother Judy Chen Wagner.
