Ralph Kuhns, Arizona

Ralph Kuhns, 71, of Tucson, Ariz. died Oct. 29, 2005, at his home.

Cremation will take place and graveside services will be held at a later date in Winterset.

Ralph is survived by two daughters, Karen and Kay; two sisters, Blanche Saunders of California and Jean Baker of Winterset; a brother, Bob Kuhns of Winterset; a stepbrother, Hal Jackson of Winterset; and three grandchildren.

Ralph E. Kuhns, longtime Tucson resident, died peacefully in his home after a long fight with cancer. Born in Zion, Iowa, he moved to Arizona in 1957 after beginning his ten year service in the U.S. Air Force.

Ralph moved to Tucson in 1971 and worked as a purchasing agent for the University of Arizona for over 20 years. After his retirement, he volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, providing his "handyman" expertise to help build homes for those in need.

Ralph Kuhns is survived by his two sisters, Jean Baker of Winterset, IA and Blanche Saunders of Nevada City, CA; his brother, Robert Kuhns of Winterset, IA; two daughters, Karen Billingsley of Knoxville, TN and Kay Nance of Yuma, AZ; two granddaughters and a grandson.

Ralph will be remembered for his love of animals, and his generosity to his family, friends and neighbors.

Private services will be held and he will be interred in the family plot in Winterset, IA.
