She was an active member in the Ahwatukee Women's Golf Club, Bridge Club and Tour Group ad volunteered countless hours at Corpus Christi Catholic Church and Edison Elementary School in Phoenix. With all of that going on, she always had time for her family. Mary was the sweetest, most loving person in the world to all who knew her. She was always there to help her family in any way she could. She was the best wife and most loving mother and friend. Her family was her life and she inspired us all. She never slowed down until God said it was time. He did that too quickly! Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Kay Rose. She is survived by her husband, George A. Mary first taught in the Chicago Public Schools, then at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Lombard IL and continued her teaching career in Columbus, Ohio at Christ the King Catholic School for many years. In 1977, Mary and her husband, George, retired from their jobs and moved to Arizona. From there, over the next twenty-five years, she still never slowed down. She was never heard to utter a mean word, and always looked on the bright side. She was a real go-getter in everything she did. Her activities in her church and her beliefs carried her through life on the sunny side. There will be a Rosary at 4:00pm on Sunday, February 2nd at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 3550 E. Knox Rd., Phoenix. Her Funeral Mass will be held at Corpus Christi on Monday, February 3rd at 9:30 in the morning. The family will receive friends at a reception immediately following the services. Instead of donations, the family asks that you take the time to mend your broken fences, make that call to the one you have been putting off, and always take the time to tell the ones close to you how much you love them and how much they mean to you. As Mary always said, "Life is too precious to let it slip away." When she said "God Bless You", she meant it. (Courtesy of Pat Wilson) |
