The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona February 2, 2003 Larry Bamberger passed away on January 30, 2003, his 87th birthday, at the Hospice of the Valley in Scottsdale. He was born in Illinois and raised in Milwaukee, WI. Larry lived in Tampa, FL and Tucson, AZ before retiring to Scottsdale. He lived at Westminster Village, where he was Past President of the Residents Council. Larry achieved the rank of Bronze Life Master at bridge. He served in leadership positions with the North Tucson and Tucson Breakfast Lions clubs. Larry was also a member of the Elks Lodge. He founded Westerner Products, Inc. in Tucson, a manufacturer of aluminum building products. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II. Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Bamberger, and daughter, Christine Bamberger. He is survived by daughter, Laurie Mellenbruch; stepsons Barry (Judi) and Brett (Emily) Wilson; 6 grandchildren and companion, Frances Schwartz. A memorial service will be held at Westminster Village, Scottsdale, Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 3:30PM. Graveside service and burial will be at Southlawn Cemetery in Tucson.
